What is Christmas in The Garden? Christmas in the Garden
is a unique holiday event based on the traditional Christmas Markets found in Germany. Guests wander through our Rediscovery Forest surrounded by beautiful light displays, food, drink, music, and high quality vendors. Fire pits and covered seating areas offer warmth and ambiance while theater performances, live music other fun events offer something new and exciting each weekend. In addition, we offer ice skating and a snowless tubing hill!
Last year, we welcomed 35,500 guests to Christmas in The Garden. The event was named the 2015 Festival of the Year by the Oregon Festivals and Events Association. Each year we aim to grow and expand this event which promises to become a cherished Oregon tradition.
Vendor expectations & Booth Details
We will expect each vendor to fill/decorate their booth so that it is charming and adds to the ambiance of the event. This is an important element of the market and is a requirement for all vendors. The inside of your booth is just as (actually MORE) important than the outside. Fill the back wall and make sure to have lots of light.
Lights on the outside of your booth MUST be LED. We recommend that all light in your booth is LED to help manage energy consumption.
You may screw in shelves, etc so long as you remove them when you leave without causing damage to the booth.
You may place things outside/alongside your booth as long as you do not block the pathway or create a danger to our guests. Any loss due to unsupervised items will be your responsibility.
Closing time is 9pm. UNLESS YOU ARE RELEASED BY GARDEN STAFF YOU MAY NOT CLOSE EARLY. If you are unable to open your booth on a day that you have agreed to be a vendor, you must find someone to work your booth. If you would like assistance finding temporary help, contact the event coordinator. Closed/dark booths are completely unacceptable and vendors who no-show may be charged fees. See Terms and Conditions.
The event takes place outside. We will provide a propane space heater. Other heaters are not allowed. You will be responsible for providing propane canisters for your heater. Details will be provided.
The standard booths are 8x8 and have a window opening that is 4 feet by approx 32 inches. They are NOT designed for guests to enter them. Your sales will take place through the window. Please plan displays, etc accordingly.
There will be a 4 foot by 2 foot counter which will run the width of the window and come into the booth a foot, out of the booth a foot.
The window swings up and hooks to the roof to create a little awning while you are open. When you close, this window latches from the inside. You will likely need help from staff to open up at the beginning of the market unless you are very tall.
Your doors will have latches on them. YOU MUST BRING A PADLOCK to lock your booth. It is your responsibility to secure your booth each time you leave it.
These are structures but they are not impervious to moisture. Bring water-tight containers to store items during the week.
